Well I managed to get through another week of school. First week back from spring break is usually a tough one, and this was no exception. I put minimal effort into anything school related as I really did not care too. But hey, we got through it and I even got an 82 on a geography exam. We'll take it.
In terms of my life, I am coming off a wicked poker bender I endured last night. I had to work until 11, so I did not partake in the usual Thursday college night activities (i.e. drinking heavily at club night). I decided coming back, watching Duke and Memphis get smoked and playing a ton of poker was the safer way to go. By the way, with Memphis losing my bracket is completely fucked as they were my national champs, so fuck me. But anyways, back to poker .. I played straight from about 12 am until 7 am I think it was. Mixed results, although I did take third in a $4.40 180 for $86. So that covered all my other tourney expenses and then some. I made a deep run in a $3 MTT, which I actually at one point fell asleep in. But oh well, positive gain on the early morning poker bender.
In more potentially poker related news, I am going to Mohegan Sun on Saturday for the day with the Senior Class. I have been doing some research online and they run $1-$2 cash games, which I will most undoubtedly be sitting in on. This would not have been possible, but I got a online poker cashout extra fast for some reason, so not only can I pay my bills, but I can own Mohegan hopefully. I am going to be meeting some family in the area, as well as possible my sister who lives in Mass. at the casino for lunch, so that should be a good time. We are only going to be at the casino from like 1-5 which is kind of weak, but it all works out because a couple of my friends are hosting a FABLOUS sounding party on Saturday night. That is all I am going to say about that for now, as it is a invite only party and I don't want to bust their spot. But I'll certainly have some details on Sunday or Monday and they should be crazy ...
But for now, I actually have to do some stuff, which blows. I gotta go finish getting some shots for this commercial I am making for the Equinox. Thankfully, it is a beautiful day out so it won't be to bad out there. After that I may be hitting up happy hour or heading over to Matty D's with Conner for beer die all day. <3 college life.

going out on a Monday
My life was becoming rather routine and dull for my liking, so naturally I did what any other single, 22-year old college senior would do ... I got wasted on a Monday. This was not my intention, but Lord, Booth, Gilligan and Ski went out for some drinks for happy hour, which naturally turned into 7-8 beers and an excessive amount of dart playing. Also naturally, we headed back to the Equinox office so Booth and Lord could "work on the paper." However, we just drank vodka and completely made sure no one did any work on the paper. This required me sitting on Chicky's lap and somehow getting guacamole all over my sweatshirt ... but it is cool because I love guacamole. I returned back here to make a stiff 7-7, which was actually Mountain Dew instead of 7-up .. so that tasted like balls. I attempted to chat it up online with anyone that wanted a quick laugh. My main culprits were Michelle and Roach and my conversations went something like this:
Auto Response from BlahhBlahh659 (12:15:02 AM) : Keene State would have OAR the year i'm not there...fuckers
Icey31644 (12:14:57 AM) : :-*
Auto Response from BlahhBlahh659
BlahhBlahh659 (12:15:39 AM) : oh sturg u make me laugh
Icey31644 (12:16:15 AM) : michelle . I miss you lots .. and I hate it
BlahhBlahh659 (12:16:40 AM) : u shouldnt hate that u miss me! lol
Icey31644 (12:17:07 AM) : hahaha
Icey31644 (12:17:25 AM) : I really miss you .. it is gay
BlahhBlahh659 (12:17:41 AM) : hahah its nott gay
BlahhBlahh659 (12:17:46 AM) : i miss you too obvi
So that was that really .. good times. I think the main reason I got drunk was because they have Sam Summer on tap at Lab .. which is bad news bears. I may go back today ...

alive and well.
It has been awhile since my last post, which is quite inexcusable. But as some may have noticed .. I have dropped the focus on poker completely! As per Sam's request, he wanted more focus on my life, as bland as it may appear occasionally. So, it has been done. I will still talk about my poker life, as it is a part of my life, but I'll be looking to cover more every day events of my sweet life.
Poker has been going sweet this week. I have not been playing as nearly as much I was planning, but I have made about $300 in tournaments. So, not working at Hannaford and my plan to make my $ in poker has worked. I have been dicking around playing alot of 8-game, badugi and other wacky games for fun. Right now, I am crushing a .05/.10 cash game with Pooler for fun. Up about $9 in 88 hands. I'll take it. I may start multi-tabling like whoa when I get back home. Or I may sleep ... we'll see.
As of right now, I am chillin with Clarky and Pare watching the NCAA Tournament games. My bracket is looking good so far, as I have actually only selected one game wrong (damn Butler!). I need some upsets to pull through in these late games (mainly VCU beating UCLA and Western Kentucky continuing to beat Illinios). Usually my bracket is already fucked three ways to Sunday, but so far so good.
Other than that, I have been just mainly chilling. I went out for St. Patrick's Day, and was wasted, so that was fun. Blurry end to night, which ended with Sam and I buying some hot pockets. But hey .. we lived.

home sweet home
Well I made it back home yesterday night, hopped up on popeye's and dayquil. It is really nice to be home, I will tell you that. It is very relaxing and stress free, which is exactly what I need right now. School/life has been increasingly stressful and taxing lately, which probably aided in me coming down with the black plague.
Speaking of the plague, since Wednesday I have pretty much felt like complete shit. Ever since getting home, I have done NOTHING except watch either the Bruins, Celtics and NCAA Conference tournament games. Tomorrow is looking more of the same, as the ACC and the Big Ten final is taking place. I am really interested in the ACC Final. Florida State, riding high from an upset over UNC (much to Clark's dismay), will be taking on Duke. I am a Duke fan, and I enjoy watching this team due to their penchant to jack threes, so I'll be cheering for the Dukies. With that said, I could see FSU easily handling Duke tomorrow if they play the way they did against UNC. FSU was playing an utmost physical game, constantly hounding Hansborough when he got the ball down low. FSU probably got away with 1000 fouls (2000 according to Clark). But refs appeared to not have the ability to call every single one, so their strategy worked out. Duke really doesn't have that dominant low post presence though. But if FSU gets physical with Singler and Henderson and takes them out of their comfort zones, FSU will be your surprise winner of the ACC.
The Bruins and Celtics are also action tomorrow, which is awesome. I am going to be doing some intense channel flipping! Watching Bruins and Celtics games at this point of the season, I can't help but be looking forward to the playoffs. I am PUMPED for both of their playoff series to begin. I have always been a casual fan of the Bruins (following the team, watching them occasionally) but this year I have made it more of a point to watch them and it has been awesome! This was also partially pushed on me by Lordy, who loves the B's. It has also helped that the Bruins are awesome this year. I am really looking forward to them in the playoffs!
The same can be said for the Celtics. I think the additions of Marbury and Mikki Moore have made this team real good. I was skeptical on both signings, but after watching them play, I am completely sold on both of them. Moore provides some athletic length, something we were sorely missing off the bench. Leon Powe and Big Baby have been solid off the bench, but they aren't legit 5s (and they are certainly not shot blocking threats). With that said, Leon Powe is a monster. I have a monster man crush on him. I think he could be a 20-10 guy. That may be over-shooting it ... but he is just a monster and I love him. Anyways ... Marbury has also been great addition in my eyes as well. He gives the Celts a true 1 off the bench (because House and Pruitt are not). Pruitt has the potentially to be one down the road, but for now, he is not. Marbury is an accomplished point guard and to boot, he is a bona fide scorer, something else the Celts needed off the bench. Come playoff time, when Celts are back at full strength (getting KG, Big Baby, Tony Allen back), they are going to be nasty strong.
Back to the purpose of this blog, poker. I have only played 1 tornament since being sick (crazy, I know). It was today, I cashed in the $3 rebuy tourney for minimal $. JJ < KJo .. yuck. Nothing really special to say there. I'll probably play tomorrow, since I never get to on Sunday and that is when the fields and $$ is huge. So we'll see how that goes. I usually play well after taking breaks, so hopefully that pans out tomorrow, because it did tonight.
I am def. liking the idea of branching this blog out to wherever I damn well want it to go .. so thanks Casie! For example, the sports rant there ... not planned at all. But it was on my mind so I wrote about it. I get blogs. They make sense.
But alright, I am going to go chug some nyquil and watch Man v.s. Food. Get at me world.

holy death ...
So finally after being stuck in a room with a roommate who apparently had the black plague for about 2 months, I got sick. Perfect timing for spring break ... F. Luckily, I am not doing ANYTHING over spring break. I usually work at Hannaford for the week, but I am saying fuck that. I am way stressed/burnt out and to top it off; I am sick. So awesome beginning to my spring break, although lounging on the couch watching March Madness by the wood stove should be relaxing and helpful.
I want nothing more than to crawl back in bed but I have to go be the man (aka the TA for Community TV News). This four hours should completely help me in my recovery (note: sarcasm).

almost x2 ...
Woof. Just busted 14th in a $2 MTT for a meager $30. Sucks to wade through a HUGE field of moron players (2961 to be exact) and bust with the best hand. This time was 1010 into AQo, which obviously last night, was the hand I busted with and today it comes around and kicks my ass. Ahhh, poker. Really wish I was still in it gunning for the $872 first place price. Fuck.
All in all, it was a really good night of poker. Although I managed not to make much money, I cashed in 5 tournaments while playing 7. I was running SOOO hot early. It was sick. I really thought I was going to ship one tourney tonight. But oh well, hopefully soon enough. I feel a lot better playing now, which is half the battle. Once I start doubting myself or my game, I typically suck and play terrible. But the last 2 nights I have put together some good runs, so yeah .. I just need a fucking win.
So that is the poker rant. In other Sturg news, I talked to one of my best friends, Hunter, today. I do not get the opportunity to talk to him to much, so that was a good time while I talked to him. He is moving out to Indiana to attend law school with his fiancee after they graduate from the University of Miami. I am way pumped for him, and I think he has the right idea of staying in school (even though I don't think I could right now). I do have a hidden ambition to attend law school, but it def would be a ways off. I need a break from the school life.
Midst our conversation, we couldn't believe we would be graduating college so soon. It is a crazy concept for me to wrap my mind around that I will no longer be attending a school. Pretty much my entire life, I have been in school. It is such a routine in my life. You semi-attempt to do well at school from Sep-April and then you bust your ass off working two jobs from May-Aug. That has been my life. But in May I graduate .. no more school. What the fuck am I suppose to do from Sep-April? Work? Fuck. Work seems like a thing you can't half-ass like I have my entire academic career (to the dismay of my parents, exgirlfriends and teachers).
School really just does not interest me. I am way over it. But even still, life without it will be fucking wacky.
I wanted to add this when I was talking about Hunter, but I got lost in my school rant, so I am just going to talk about it now. Fuck it. It is my blog. I mentioned Hunter is moving out to Indiana with his fiancee, Rachel. I am WAY pumped for their wedding in June. Ben (diff Ben from other blog posts), Roach (same Roach), Ferrill and I are all best men, as Hunter neglected to select one best man due our to tight knitness (inventing words.) We were always together in high school (except the moments when we were with our respective girlfriends). We have remained close throughout college, but it is tough to coordinate schedules when we are home for all of us to hang out at once (also partially due to respective girlfriends). So I am really looking forward to spending that weekend with all the guys. No homo, but I love those guys.
I have so many great friends from back home (way to many to mention) and here in Keene (way to many to mention as well). I am really blessed to have such great friends and without them, I would really not be anything.
Wicked homo .. I blame it on the Pandora Radio song currently playing .. Tim McGraw - Grown Men Don't Cry ..

almost ...
Sigh. Got deep into a $33 MTT .. busted in 37th place for about $70. I was feeling great! The best I was playing/feeling in a week or so. When I get deep in tourneys like this, I really feel like I am going to win. I really had that feeling tonight. I was playing so NITTY! 7% of flops seen! I was just playing a small stack and hitting timely doubles but it was working great! Then I went ahead and overplayed AQ (maybe?) from the button and running into AA in the small blind. I could have folded AQ to the reraise I received, but I shoved it hoping to see a PP or AJ. But nah. Fuck. The hand ..

Oh well I guess, I'll take solace in the fact I felt I played real well and cashed in something decent (feels like forever). I also cashed in a $2 MTT for minimal $$. Did not cash in the $5 360! My KK got beat by 44 after a 4 came on the flop. WEAK!
Enough poker (there will be more tomorrow), don't want to bore Casie to much. Although I really don't have much to say other than poker ... my life really consists of poker, school and the Equinox (the other two are not that enjoyable to write about). I barely even drink anymore! That may be a stretch .. but hey .. it feels like I don't drink as much, I'll tell you that.
My friend Roach sent me a message from Copenhagen today. He is heading to Amsterdam today. I am WAAAAAYY jealous. I'd love to be in Europe right now. I really want to go to Ireland after I graduate. Doubtful I will though. If anything I'll be going out to San Diego with Clarky and Tardiff or possible taking a road trip with the roommates. We'll see. Maybe I'll have a job .. HA!

I have a follower!
Yeah .. Casie is my first follower and I am WAY excited about it! She can most def copy edit my blog!
Also, per her request, she wants me to def branch out into more of my life and such. Since she is my only follower and my dedicated reader of this blog, I will. Poker will still be discussed obviously but as will the fascinating life of me. Watch out internet.

Life and Poker ... hurting.
So going through a tough poker spell currently. Tons of busts on bubbles, coolers and bad play by me. Played quite a few turbo 180s ranging from $12-$2 yesterday .. did not cash in any of them which was solid. I typically try to stay away from turbos because they are mostly crap shoots. But I had limited time and they are generally filled with donks it appears.
Life is hurting mostly due to a lingering hangover from a good time last night. Lord (my roommate .. I am going to add details like this assuming random people are reading this, but in all likelihood that is not the case, but whatever) and I partied it up with a bunch of new people last night so that was cool. We said it kind of felt like freshman year in terms of rolling into a house, knowing few people, partying in a basement. It was a good time though.
Got my normal Sunday routine of meetings/equinox stuff from like 5-10. Then I'll be back here to grind some micro MTTs, $4 180s and obv my fave $5 360. Maybe I'll go deep tonight and actually make some $$? I won't hold my breath though ...
P.S. - I starting writing this with the intention of saying how pissed I am because the Bruins and the Celtics both lost this afternoon ...

fuck my life.
Terrible day of poker .. coolers and bad beats galore. Bubbled a $4.40 180 and a $11 180 which I had a sick last longer bet on. Just can't win races on the bubble and late in tourneys, that is what you have to do. Unfortunately ... I suck.
The only thing I did fucking cash was the $5 360 (obviously). But at 3 am Keene State kicks everyone off the server, and usually I can get back on fairly quickly. But obviously, tonight I could not get back on at all. Even right now, I am not on the server, I am connected to somebody's wireless network. So I get blinded down .. finally I call my friend Ben (who is awesome at poker), and he says he can take over for me. In the SB, he shoves with 88 (which was a given) 6x the BB, and gets called by 55 and QJhh. Obviously, J on the flop seals my fate and puts me in 21st place.
Fuck Keene State, fuck the inability to win fucking races late in tournies and fuck my life.

In the SB, he shoves with 88 (which was a given) 6x the BB, and gets called by 55 and QJhh. Obviously, J on the flop seals my fate and puts me in 21st place.
Fuck Keene State, fuck the inability to win fucking races late in tournies and fuck my life.

The beginning ...
Wheather anyone reads this or not is not really the purpose of this blog. The real purpose is for me to let off steam in a more constructive manner instead of throwing random objects around the room or violently masturbating when I get brutally sucked out on or whatever. You can except to see some bad beats, as well as some interesting hand discussion and maybe even a post or two about me winning some $. Who knows?
This blog could cross over into some life discussion, although my life is pretty bland outside of school and poker .. soo we'll see. I'll be posting eventually about my history of poker playing and some other info later. But for now .. going to ship it.
P.S. - While writing this post .. I was running good .. until the end .. just lost about $50 in 3 hands including running KK into AA .. go figure .. what a start to the blog.
